LFM3-1.7B is the text model of Liquid AI's third-generation Liquid Foundation Models, released 2026-10-27. 1.73B parameters on a new 'tri-hybrid' 24-layer backbone mixing three layer types, with a 256K-token context. The first LFM3 drop is six ~2B-class models all branched from LFM3-1.7B-Base: LFM3-1.7B (text), LFM3-VL-2B (image/video), LFM3-Audio-2B (speech in/out), LFM3-Omni-2B, and two decision models (d1-2B, d1-omni-2B). Liquid reports LFM3-1.7B beats Qwen3.5-9B on long browser and business-app tasks with under a fifth of the parameters, and scores 38.42 on WebArena-Verified vs 3.02 for LFM2.5-2.6B despite ~35% fewer parameters; ~1 GB at 4-bit for on-device use. Base and post-trained weights under the LFM Open License v1.0 (free for companies under $10M revenue) on Hugging Face, plus Liquid Playground/API, OpenRouter and Vercel; day-0 partners include AMD, Arm, Intel (OpenVINO), NVIDIA and Qualcomm.
